I am,Savannah Butcher.
My name is Savannah Marie Butcher. I was born and raised in Glenwood Springs Colorado to my beautiful parents Gayle Bean and Jim Butcher. I was born at Valley view hospital in Glenwood springs. I was born on the 11th of april 1996 at 11:48pm.The only people in the room when i was born was my parents and my Aunt Janean. When i came out my parents claimed that i looked like a frog because of my abnormal chubby cheeks and large liquid soulful brown eyes and also mentioned that I didn’t shed a tear .My big brother demanded my mom to “Put me back right now!” mainly because all the attention went from cute little two year old Jimmy to his even cuter ,brand new, little sister,me. My mom named me after her favorite movie “Savannah Smiles” with Drew Barrymore when she was a little girl.I still have yet to watch the movie but my mom said when I watch it i’ll know exactly why she wanted to name me after that movie.
My mom Gayle Marie Bean was born in Germany in 1971 on October 2nd.
She lived in Germany with my Grandparents and her older sister Janean. My grandfaher (James Bean)was stationed in Germany for two years because of his service in the military. Shortly after that they ventured to Texas where they also lived for a very short time. When my mom was six they moved to Colorado. They started in Denver but moved there way up to the valley. At thirteen my mom moved to California where she started her high school and made friends that she has till this day. When my mom was seventeen she moved to Glenwood Springs and graduated from Glenwood Springs high school. After my mom graduated she started working and moved into her own place. When she was 19 she started working at U.S. bank and maintained her job there for a few years. When she working at the bank my dad was a frequent customer and would always go in and stir up conversations with my mom and finally ballsed up and asked her on a date when she was 21. My father Jimmy Butcher was born in Evergreen Colorado to his marvelous parents Jim Butcher and Sherry Butcher. He had one older brother named Sean. When they were little they would go stay with my Aunt Jan and uncle Gill out in Texas for a few months during the summer and would have the time of their lives riding around the hole town of Tampa Texas on their bikes. When my uncle and dad were... they were the ball boys for the nuggets. When my dad was 21 his mom passed away due to a blood clot. This affected the entire butcher family because even though I never got to meet her she is a legend in the butcher family for being one of the strongest and most powerful women to ever live. My parents got divorced when I was about one years old. My dad moved to Denver and we had regular visits with him when we turned a little older. My mom stayed in Glenwood and continued going to school at CMC. My dad became a sales men at a car dealership in Denver. Now my dad is happily married to my step mom Lisa and live in a nice house in Commerce City with our two dogs Valley and Jill. My parents didn’t have a lot in common but one thing they agreed on was the dates that my brother and I would be concieved. My brother Jimmy Don Butcher and I share the same birthday just two years apart. When I was born, unfortunatley for him,I was his only present. He wasn’t the happiest little kid but he came around to love me. We became really close the older we got. By the time I was five and he was seven we were doing everything together. We use to share the same room when we were younger and had bunk beds. When my mom finally bought a house with three rooms we had seperation issues. We would have to sneak into eachothers room while my mom was sleeping just so we could stay up late together and watch movie after movie. Then when my mom would catch us we would put up the biggest fights just so we could stay together. My brother and I shared a lot of the same friends. We were all always getting into mischief together but it never stopped the gang from hanging out. Jimmy has always been an athletic boy. He played every sport in the book including tennis. He inspired me to want to be athletic so I also played many sport but not anywhere near as many as him. He played football, soccer, hockey, basketball, tennis, lacrosse and he also snowboards. Jimmy graduated from Glenwood Springs High in 2012. Now he is attending college at Metro University in Denver. Although my brother and I don’t have the closest relationship anymore we still love each other more than words can explain. We might have an odd way of showing it but when it comes down to it were two peas in a pod. Jimmy is my only sibling but I have a few cousins that I grew up with. My moms sister Janean has four kids. The oldest kathleen who is now twenty five,Gary who is now 23,kevin who is 21,and Matthew the youngest who is now 15. My aunt died november 29th 2010 due to breast cancer. Her cancer speard throughout her body and she ended up getting bone cancer, blood cancer, and liver cancer. Janean was such a wonderful women. She tried so hard to keep a positivie attitude on her situation. To see someone so young and with such bad health is hearbreaking. She was an inspirational women. Anyone who can keep a positivie outlook on a situation like what she had is powerful. It really makes you realize that no matter what your going through someone always has it worse. Not only was my aunt a powerful women but she was a great mom. Her kids might not be the sharpest tools in the shed but they defenitley have a piece of there mom inside them that will shine on forever. My cousin kathleen and I were really close as little kids. She was a few years older then me so she liked to pretend that I was her little baby girl. She loved to spoil me, teach me cheer moves, play baby dolls with me,do my hair and makeup, and loved me to the moon and back. My boy cousins on the other hand weren’t my biggest fans. They were always throwing my things around the house pulling my pony tails and calling me a “baby” cause matthew hadn’t been born yet so I was the youngest. One time the five of us decided to venture off to the park while our moms were having a yard sale at my grandparents. We went to the swings and sense I was only two about to be three,my cousin had to push me herself on the swing. I decided to wanted to be a “Big girl” and NOT sit on the baby swing. Kathleen was pushing me really hard and fast to the point to where I fell forward and ended up busting open my lip on a pile of rocks. Now I have a scar above my upper lip leading to my nose. Although I don’t rember any of it becasue I was so young i’m still scared for life by the situation.

One of the many things I am beyond proud of that I have done so far in my life is the photos I have taken. Photography has always been important to me and it always will be. It captures a moment of your life. Something you can always go and look back on as long as you keep the photos. I can’t count the numebr of times I have taken a picture and thought it was the best picture ever even though it was something so simple just because of where i was at that moment or because of how ecstatic it made me feel. The saying is “A picture is worth a thousand words” and that could never be truer. One thing about photogrphy is that anyone could do it. And since I haven’t discovered anything extremley talanted about myself I decided I might as well try taking photos of random things and making them look good. I consider it a talent now cause in my opinion my pictures turn out looking really well. One of my talents that I have is being able to go with whatever my gut feeling is. I consider that a talent becasue lots of people can’t do that. Although I have made some not so wise decsions while going with my gut my have made way more wise decisions when going with my gut. I read this book called the “secret” It’s about being happy in life and what you need to get there. It was all about good vibes and positivity. Now I always keep a positive mentality on situations. So far it has yet to let me down. Positivity is everything. Defenitley the key to my life! I’m not perfect though we all have our moments. My freshmen year I was going trough a really big slump in my life. I didn’t have any true friends,I had a serious attitude problem,I judged everyone,I had a horrible relationship with my family,my boyfriend at the time was totally wrong for me,I would find myself crying into my dogs furry belly every night. I was depressed and couldn’t go to anyone about it.One night I got in a fight with my mom and her now ex boyfriend and decided I couldn’t take it anymore. So I attempted to take my own life that night. I ended up running to my brother a few hours later and telling him I needed medical help. My mom rushed me to the hospital where they gave me treatment and put me on an anti-depressants. A few months later I completely felt like a new person.I changed my friends, got in touch with my family, changed my attitude and kicked my boyfriend in the dust. Life ever since then has been great! Yeah, there have been a lot of rough patches but nothing to put me at a breaking point like that. One thing in my life that has helped me get through that has been the lack of drinking and smoking. The beginning of my eighth grade year i started going to parties with my friend Kendra from denver. She was completely wild child! Her parents were strict with her she did a damn good at rebelling. We would tell our parents we were staying at each others houses but really go out with her brother who was a senior in high school and he would take to us to parties all the way in boulder, colorado springs, downtown Denver,EVERYWHERE! I don’t regret doing what I did with Kendra but I do wish I would’ve gotten caught up a lot earlier than I did so i would’ve realized where my life was going. A few years later and I now have multiple charges on my record. Fortunate enough for me I got charged when I was a minor. The consequences weren't anywhere near as intense but they still didn’t have an ounce of fun behind them. I finished my probation without getting in anymore trouble and I am now 18 so those charges are officially expunged from my record and I have no sign of being a rebellious teen. I guess it’s just part of growing up and maturing into the person you were suppose to be. I believe in a new “code” every year. Some I keep and some I can’t even remember they were that idiotic. My mom always said to me “You have to figure everything out on your own,I will guide you the best I can but some things are out of my control.” So I made my own code on what to believe in and how to get by in life. I watched this movie called “The Secret” It’s about the key to life. Wish believe recive. It teaches you that positivitey is everything. Yet some things are out of your reach and you can’t control it. But yet some are totally sitting right in front of you. All’s it takes is a little positivity to get what you want. Another code I and many other go by is being free. Having a free spirit is important because it really helps you get by in life. I dont mean being free like not being locked up in a dungeon or moving out of your parents house. I mean actually being free. Doing what you want because you feel it’s right. Truly expressing who you are and why you have just as much right as anyone else to be living on this planet. To me that’s beautiful. Anyone who realizes they are a free spirit is pretty freaking beautiful in my opinion. Although that is beauiful that is not what beauty is. Beauty is anything that you can see, touch or feel that makes you feel happy. Sunsets are beautiful. Childbirth beautiful. Seeing someone come home from the army and their family running towards them with tears of joy beautiful. A friendship is also something so beautiful. Friendships come and go so it has it’s doubts about being beautiful but any one who can find someone that they bond with and share memorise that they will never forget is so powerful. Even if it’s not a friendship with a human being it could be with an animal. My dog is literally my bestfriend. I have plenty of friends but i couldn’t consider one of them my actuall bestfriend becasue noneof them make me feel the way my dog does. I know my dog can’t talk but we have such an incredible bond that we dont need words to know what we want. My face will be burried in my pillow and I’ll harldly be tearing up and of course here comes Meia my majestic pomeranian coming in to make my tears go away. Friendship is one of a kind and it’s hard to truly find someone you can have an intense relationship with and make it last till literally death do us apart. I know i’ll find my best friend one day. Hell,i’ve lived in a small town my entire time of living. Glenwood may be rather small but it’s cozy and comftorable. It’s home. I know every street in town almost every hiking trail i could probably draw this town with my eyes closed and that says a lot since my artistic abilities are nothing to brag about. This small town makes me feel safe also. I know that there’s a posibility for anyting to happen but it’s so unlikely here. Glenwood has some of the most beauiful scenery as well that it’s imposible not to love it. Everywhere you look theres a mountain and tall trees.I know that I was raised here and some say i’ve just grown to love it but Glenwood Springs Colorado will always be home regadless of how far away I am at the moment,I will come back. As much as I love Glenwood I do want to expirence other places. I want to travel around the world and sell my hair prodocts that I make when I become a beaution. In order for me to do that I have to graduate college and go to beauty school. I know I have the motivation to do this becasue it’s something i truly feel passionate about. I love hair and I want to design a hair care product made all natural and actually helps your hair with treatment. Right now I really need to focus on graduating high school, getting my diploma, going to college and being sucsessful in college, graduation college, and go to beauty school, where the real fun can begin. As of right now I am a little stressed about graduating high school but I know with the right mentality I can do it! I am a sucsessful person when i truly want something I put all I have into getting it. I do have a lack of motivation at times but eventually if I feel the need to get something done or just do something I make sure it happens and wont stop till it does.
I am grateful for many things. For starters the sunsets here in Colorado are just breathtaking. I am thankful for being alive every day. Having an education and the chance to go to school.I am thankful for Yampah because without them I don't know how I would graduate. I am thankful for my parents of course and not being an only sibling. I am thankful for my spunk personality for giving me the friends I have. I am thankful for music and the ability to go see shows live.I am thankful for hair dye and makeup so I can change the way I look with a little art. I am thankful for technology although at times it is very stressful. I am thankful for my dog and her birth parents for making her so cute! I am thankful for the people who design the hiking trails so we don’t get lost while going on a hike. I am thankful for water for hydrating me everyday. I am thankful for the four seasons Colorado sends out every year. I am thankful for photography for giving me a hobby to do. And lastly I am thankful for being me because the more I experience throughout life the more I love being who I am.
